BrittBarbieWorld & Metacourt integrate Chainlink VRF to power up a new NFT collection
Life can be tough, but sometimes we need a little help from others to reach our goals. In this article, find out how the young girl from St. Louis overcame her challenges and touched the sky with the little help of crypto friends — Chainlink and Metacourt.
Growing up
“Growing up, I was always told that I could touch the sky if I reached for the stars. And while that may be true, it’s a lot harder to do when you’re standing on your own. But with the help of others, anything is possible.” Says Britt Barbie, an 18-year-old TikTok sensation.
“Without going into much detail, I was always bullied at school. I’m not sure where I would be today without the support of my family and friends. They’ve always believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. And for that, I am truly grateful.”

The craziness started with “Period Ah, Period Uh”. Then there were other songs and a shy girl from St Louis, Brittney Winkleman, became an overnight sensation in the summer of 2022. Copied and followed by Cardi B, Madonna and other big names she gained amazing traction on TikTok reaching 2 million followers in just 2 months and becoming one of the top #400 most popular TikTok celebrities on the planet!
The platform
Seeing the growing popularity of TikTok influencer but also the dangers related to it, Metacourt AG (https://metacourt.gg), a Swiss crypto company, decided to step in and help. “We created a new crypto platform just a month ago which is called “Influencer Accelerator” (https://nftdeals.io) and Brittney is a perfect fit. She is a young aspiring artist and soon to be a big star on social media. We would like to help her grow and elevate to the next level. The collection
The goal of the collection is to help produce her first hip-hop album. Her dream is to become a female Eminem.
The collection is placed on the website https://brittbarbieworld.com and consists of 10000 ERC-721 hand-drawn characters (150 total traits). The characters have 3 rarity levels. The contract is fully audited. Tokens are sold for 0.078 ETH and come with many perks including shoutouts, music video cameos, discounts for brands, access to private spaces and meetings, and much more.
The missing link — Chainlink
Metacourt decided to make the NFT contract more responsive and interactive with NFT collectors. “Britt Barbie's contract comes with perks for her fans. If you get the NFT, you will instantly become part of her world. What was important for us was to bring full transparency to this interaction. As we planned for periodic prize raffles with the community we were searching for the most transparent solution on the market.”, says Klemen Gradisar, Director of Partnerships in Metacourt.
Metacourt found support from the biggest and most famous blockchain oracle — Chainlink (https://chain.link).
Today we’re excited to announce that Metacourt has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on the Ethereum mainnet. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to return the random NFTs from the pool of buyers. Ultimately this creates a more exciting and transparent user experience, as users can receive prizes that come along the NFTs in a fully transparent way.
In order to draw the winners, we need access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity. For instance, RNG solutions derived from blockchain data like block hashes can be exploited by miners/validators, while off-chain RNG solutions derived from off-chain APIs are opaque and don’t provide users with definitive proof about the integrity of the process.
After reviewing various solutions, we selected Chainlink VRF because it’s based on cutting-edge academic research, supported by a time-tested oracle network, and secured through the generation and on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs that prove the integrity of each random number supplied to smart contracts.
Chainlink VRF combines block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Metacourt smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof.
Britt Barbie World is the first Metacourt project that uses Chainlink VRF, we are already planning to integrate Chainlink with our influencer accelerator (https://nftdeals.io) for Price Feeds and many more including Chainlink Keeper Network.
